Vacancy for Project and Finance Officer

PFPID is currently implementing a short-term project for strengthening organizational capacity until December 2022.  Thus, it wishes to hire following positions.

A. Position: Project Officer

PFPID therefore is looking application from competitive candidates who have dedication of working in the disability sector for the following post.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Act as first point contact person for the project manage
  • Develop project execute calendar and finalize in consultation with the stakeholders
  • Organize capacity development events ensuring the participation of self-advocates of intellectual disability 
  • Take lead role in hiring external resource person for short term service contract and make sure that assignment in timely delivered
  • Lead the process to analyses PFPIF institutional capacity, develop report and develop a capacity building plan
  • Participate in the review and update of PFPID policies and procedures and potential implications of the new system, policies and procedures
  • Develop strategic relationship and partnership with key stakeholders at National, Regional Level.
  • Provide technical support to the representatives of PFPID Board to register new organizations at government offices and renew the existing members of PFPID in different agencies in the district
  • Ensure learning’s are documented team in the most effective way.
  • Prepare event report, monthly report and prescribed reports in the format supplied.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate with the donor and the board.

Required qualification, skills and experiences

  • A Minimum of 5 years relevant experience for Bachelors and 3 years for Masters in a reputed organization, experience of working in a Multi-cultural context essential.
  • Proven experience in organizational capacity building and program management.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of project management.
  • Skillful in searching information in internet, operating social media, making news and activity reports when needed.
  • Sound and up to date knowledge of development concepts, methodologies and techniques including demonstrated understanding of gender issues in development and demonstrable commitment to promoting gender equality within the organization and in programme work.
  • Strong knowledge of proposal writing, program planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Experience in designing, setting up and coordinating monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment systems and processes of a program are required.
  • Knowledge and experience of day to day office operation, administrative work, document verification, organizing meeting, writing minutes, record keeping, staff monitoring etc.
  • Sound knowledge on disability and experience working with the persons with disability, their parents and OPDs will be an added advantage.

B. Position: Finance Officer

Required qualification, skills and experiences

  • Completed minimum Bachelorsor equivalent with accounting background.
  • Good verbal and written skill of communication in Nepali.
  • Fluent in computer typing in Nepali and English (Including Unicode)
  • Good in handling basic computer programs (Ms. Word, Excel, Power point), email and internet
  • Knowledge to handle accounting software 
  • Work experience in similar work for 2 years
  • Able to prepare Journal voucher, payment voucher, receipt voucher
  • Able to prepare Trial balance, balance sheet, bank reconciliation, Fund Accountability Statement (FAS) and settle petty cash voucher.
  • Knowledge of computer, word, excels etc.
  • Knowledge of taxation, vat and online TDS deduction and knowledge of performing ETDS.
  • Having good knowledge in disability issues and disability specific laws and policies
  • Person having working experience in disability field will be in priority
  • Skill and knowledge of drafting and dispatching letters

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work as key focal person to handle the account of with close coordination with Admin and Finance Officer.
  • Handle the secretarial works (managing meeting schedule, drafting letter, entering data and typing report or documentation, keeping records, filing etc.) as per the guidance and direction of program officer or province board
  • Maintain and update the organization assets register.
  • Collect the supporting documents and keep the record of it.
  • Carry out the work related to banking (deposit and collection of cheque or cash, collection of different bank statements etc.) and letter dispatching.
  • Support to the program officer and board member for management while conducting training, orientation, advocacy meetings, interaction, workshops.
  • Carry out necessary official field work as per the direction of program officer and province board
