2. Introduction:

PFPID was established in 2011. It is a network of member organizations – all of them Parents Associations of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PAPIDs) and Associations of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (APIDs). PFPID has a total of 59 member organizations which means that PFPID as a network is represented in 59 of the 77 districts in Nepal and the network is expanding.

3. Project Description

The project “Blossom – more, better, greater (building on good experiences)” (the Project) is a project implemented by PFPID Nepal in partnership with Lev. The project commenced in 01/07/2021 and ending by 30/06/2024. The project is financially supported by The Danish Disability Fund administrated by the Disabled Peoples Organisations Denmark (DPOD).

PFPID and Lev have collaborated since 2019.

4. Scope of Work

Overall objective of the work is to develop guideline on proposal writing and provide training to the parents of member organization for developing capacity of them so that they can submit proposal in different stakeholders and make their organization financially strong. 

  • Develop guideline for development of proposal: The consultant should develop the guideline for development of proposal. It must cover the steps of writing proposal and information gathering. 
  • Provide Training: The consultant facilitates two days training in two places. The training venue is to be decided.
  • Develop Proposal: At the end of training, it is expected that all the participants will able to develop the proposal.
  • Propose Training date: The Consultant must be completed the training by the end of January 2024.

5. Expected Outputs and Deliverables

The key outputs of the assignment are to:

  • Develop a guideline for proposal development.
  • Facilitate two days training in two places. Submit training report.

6. Duration of the Work

The consultant/facilitator should develop the guideline for development of proposal within 31 January 2024 and the training should be provided in two places as per the need of PFPID.

7. Minimum requirements

EducationMaster’s or equivalent preferred, in social sciences, disability studies law, human rights, development, gender studies, development, or other related field.
CompetenciesExpert knowledge in Intellectual disabilities and their situation in Education and social security aspectsThe consultant has a proven experience in organizational development and proposal writing. Have a sound knowledge in disability issues as well as intellectual disability sector. Previous work on research and experience with disability group will be an added advantage.The PFPID will give priority to those with experience in facilitating training for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Language requirementGood command on English and Nepali language. Good understanding of other local language will be an added advantage.

Note: Estimated budget (excluding the accommodation and transportation cost) is to be sent along with documents. [Accommodation and Transportation will be covered by PFPID]

8. Application Procedure

Qualified and interested candidates are requested to submit the following documents:

    (i) Cover letter including a Brief Note stating why the candidate thinks s/he is the best candidate for the assignment,

    (ii) Personal CV with details of work experience relevant to the announced TOR, submitting previous publications is an asset.

Deadline for Application Submission: The eligible candidate should submit the proposal within 22 January 2024.
