17 Press release on World Autism Awareness Day.

Today, April 2, 2024 is being celebrated as the 17th World Autism Awareness Day with the theme "Moving from Surviving to Thriving: Autistic Individuals share regional perspectives". A person with autism repeats the same process in social behavior and communication. According to WHO, 1 percent of babies born have symptoms of autism (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Boys are more likely to have autism than girls. In the absence of recognition, rehabilitation and counseling, regular therapy and care, people with autism are hindered from full and meaningful participation in health, education and community and ultimately they are seen as a burden.

Lack of awareness, identification, counseling, regular therapy and family care, young and old people with autism can develop skills and abilities to establish themselves in the community. The Act on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2074 included autism in the classification of disabilities, and they have the right to live with dignity and independence. Ensured rights.

We wish the Autism Awareness Day by asking the relevant parties to commit to building an inclusive society with people with disabilities, including autism, who need care of a social nature, to start a personal support service for the right to live voluntarily.
