Self-advocacy meeting concluded

Lamjung, being a geographically backward hilly district, if the life of ordinary people is so challenging, how much more difficult will the life of people with intellectual disabilities be? In spite of these challenging stories, the parents of intellectually disabled people in this Lamjung district have been working by forming a parent self-help group with the help of the Federation of Parents of Intellectual Disabilities. The second meeting of the group has been completed under the chairmanship of Mr. Bed Bahadur Thapa in the presence of all the members

The meeting focused on the experience and care of the parents of people with intellectual disabilities and how to solve the long-term solutions of those problems locally. There is a lot of difficulty in that the parents of children with intellectual disabilities are going through an even more painful situation l Should they work all day? Will she take care of the children? There is neither an intellectual school nor a daycare center here, so the parents have to stay at their homes for six days and see the physical development of some intellectually disabled people. Till today, neither the concerned bodies nor the government have attracted the attention of the parents, the parents are working on their own for their children.

In view of this context, while searching for the first land for the establishment of day care center at the initiative of this group, the vice president of Annapurna Intellectual Retardation Parents Association- Lamjung in this district Mr. Subhadra Adhikari has assured to provide 6 annas of land as a donation. In the upcoming days of the district, it will definitely help in the care and safety of people with intellectual disabilities and in coordination with the government and various stakeholders, the parents of people with intellectual disabilities have come together and carried forward lobbying and discussion programs in the coming days. was l
