Expression of Interest (EOI)For: Consultant to Conduct Training on Understanding Emotions, Self-Care, and Stress Relief for Parent Self-Help Groups

PFPID Nepal invites qualified and experienced consultants or consulting firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to design and deliver a two-day training program on Understanding Emotions, Self-Care, and Stress Relief for parents of persons with intellectual disabilities. Parents from five districts will participate in this capacity-building event.

1. Background

Parents of persons with intellectual disabilities often experience emotional stress, social pressure, and caregiving fatigue. Strengthening their emotional well-being is essential to improve family resilience, reduce burnout, and promote a positive home environment. PFPID Nepal aims to provide parents with practical tools for emotional regulation, self-care practices, and stress-management techniques.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

The consultant will be responsible for designing and facilitating an interactive two-day training that helps parents:

  • Understand emotions and emotional intelligence
  • Identify stressors and coping mechanisms
  • Apply practical self-care techniques
  • Strengthen resilience and positive mental health

3. Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for:

Training Design & Preparation

  • Develop a two-day training curriculum tailored to the psychosocial needs of parents of persons with intellectual disabilities.
    • Prepare training materials, presentations, and handouts.
    • Design pre- and post-training assessment tools.

Training Delivery

  • Facilitate the two-day training using participatory, inclusive, and trauma-informed approaches.
    • Ensure activities are interactive, practical, and accessible to diverse parent groups.

Reporting

  • Conduct pre- and post-assessment analysis to measure knowledge and behavioral change.
    • Submit a concise training report summarizing sessions, outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for future support.

4. Expected Deliverables

  • Two-day training curriculum and session plan
  • Training materials (slides, handouts, reference notes, tools)
  • Pre- and post-training assessment tools and analysis
  • Final training report with key learnings and recommendations

5. Duration & Location

  • Duration: 2 days of training + 2 days preparation/reporting
  • Training Dates: To be finalized in coordination with PFPID Nepal
  • Location: Centralized venue with participation from five districts

6. Required Qualifications of Consultant

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work, or a related field
  • Proven experience (minimum 3–5 years) in facilitating psychosocial, emotional intelligence, or caregiver well-being trainings
  • Strong understanding of emotional intelligence, stress management, and self-care techniques
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities, caregivers, or parent groups (preferred)
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to apply participatory and culturally-sensitive training methods

7. Reporting Line

The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Project Officer, PFPID Nepal, and coordinate closely with the project team for planning and implementation.

8. Payment Modality

  • Payment will be made upon submission and approval of all deliverables including the final training report.
  • PFPID Nepal will cover logistical costs for the training event (venue, participant allowances, materials, etc.).

9. Required Documents for Submission

Technical proposal (training approach, methods, and draft content outline)

Evidence of similar work (if available)
