Vacancy Announcement for “PROJECT OFFICER”

Parents’ Federation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities – Nepal (PFPID) is a non-governmental organization established by the parents of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs) in Nepal. This organization is the national federation representing PWIDs, registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and working for the rights, dignity, and services of persons with intellectual disabilities. The Head Office of the organization is located in Devi Marga, Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu, Ward no. 31, Nepal. Currently, PFPID operates across Nepal through its member organizations in 62 districts.

The main objective of the organization is to protect and promote the rights of person with intellectual disabilities for their meaningful inclusion in families, communities, and society at large.

As the following staff is required in PFPID-Nepal, applications are invited from interested and qualified Nepali citizens:

Position: Project Officer

Number: 1 (One)

Job Location: PFPID Central Office, Devi Marga, Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu (with occasional travel to project areas)

Duration: Until end of December 2025 (Annual renewal based on performance)

Major responsibilities to be fulfilled:

  • Coordinate and implement project activities as per the project plan and guidance from the Executive Director.
  • Facilitate trainings, consultations, and workshops related to disability rights, inclusion, and capacity building.
  • Prepare periodic project reports, case studies, and documentation of best practices.
  • Liaise with consortium partners, member organizations, stakeholders, and local authorities.
  • Support effective monitoring, data collection, and communication efforts within the project.

Required Qualifications:

a) Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, Development Studies, or a related field. (Master’s preferred)

b) Work Experience:

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in project coordination or implementation, preferably in the disability or rights-based development sector.

c) Other Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of intellectual disability and disability rights.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, email, and basic digital tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project areas.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English.
