Conducted leadership and capacity development training for member organizations of the federation

The leadership and capacity development training for the working committee of member organizations in Myagdi Kaski and Lamjung has been completed in Bandipur of Tanahun under the initiative of Federation of Parents of Intellectual Disability Nepal.

General Secretary of the Federation, Ram Narayan Shrestha welcomed the working committee of the member organizations of all the 3 districts to the training and highlighted the purpose and justification of the training.

Two Coach Ganesh Giri said that the participants actively participated in the learning process through the use of games, group work, interaction, etc. in order to achieve the objectives of the training, which was conducted for a day.

Among the participants in the training, Jamuna Paudel, president of the Intellectual Disability Parents Association, a member organization of Myagdi district, expressed her commitment to put the knowledge learned into practice after returning to her district as this training provided leadership development, mobilization and capacity development as well as motivation.

Surya Mohan Kandel, another participant of the training, the treasurer of the Kaski district member organization Parents Association of Intellectual Disability, said that the training should not only teach leadership as leadership, but how to develop creative and creative leadership and how to take the whole issue to the mainstream through continuous development of skills and abilities that should be in leadership according to time. While saying that he learned that, he said that after returning from the training, he will try to follow the learned subject literally.

Rammaya Sapkota, secretary of Annapurna Intellectual Retardation Parents Association, a member organization of Lamjung District, who participated in the same training, said that in order to bring the issue of people with intellectual disabilities to the mainstream, the role of leadership, the transfer of responsibility, making collective and planned strategies, and the opportunity to learn from different techniques to be constantly motivated with positive thinking and to motivate others. While stating that the federation has received, he said that this type of training should be continued for the member organizations.

29 people including parents of people with intellectual disabilities and people with intellectual disabilities from 3 districts participated in the training, which was completed under the Kopila project of the Federation of Parents of Intellectual Disabilities Nepal with the support of Lev Inclusion Denmark.
