Assignment: Development of 2D Animated Learning Videos for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities

  1. Background

The Parent Federation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PFPID) Nepal works to empower persons with intellectual disabilities (IDs) by promoting their inclusion and rights. As part of its capacity-building initiatives, PFPID Nepal aims to create accessible, engaging, and educational 2D animated videos to enhance the workplace readiness of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The videos will focus on:

  • Socialization Skills in the Workplace
  • Preparation for Job Interviews

These videos will serve as learning tools for persons with IDs to develop essential skills required for successful integration into the workplace.

2. Objective

The objective of this assignment is to produce two 2D animated videos, each designed as an engaging and easy-to-understand learning material for persons with intellectual disabilities. The content should effectively convey the key concepts of socialization in the workplace and job interview preparation in an inclusive, visually appealing, and accessible manner.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant/agency will:

  • Work collaboratively with PFPID Nepal to develop scripts for the videos
  • ensuring the content is tailored to the learning needs of persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Create two 2D animated videos (each 3–5 minutes in length) on the following topics:

Video 1: Socialization Skills in the Workplace

Video 2: Preparation for Job Interviews

  • Ensure the videos are: Visually appealing and easy to understand.
  • Designed with inclusive elements, such as clear animations and simple language.
  • Accompanied by voiceovers in Nepali (with subtitles in English).
  • Submit drafts for review and incorporate feedback from PFPID Nepal.
  • Deliver final videos in a format compatible with various platforms (eg, MP4, YouTube-ready).

4. Deliverables

  • Draft Scripts: Jointly developed with PFPID Nepal for both videos.
  • Draft Videos: Preliminary versions for review.
  • Final Videos: Polished, high-quality 2D animated videos (3–5 minutes each).

5. Timeline

The assignment must be completed within December 15.

6. Qualifications and Experience

The ideal consultant/agency should have:

  • Proven experience in creating 2D animated videos, preferably educational content.
  • Familiarity with designing inclusive and accessible learning materials.
  • Strong creative and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback and work collaboratively with clients.
  • Proficiency in animation software and post-production tools.

7. Application Procedure

Interested applicants are requested to submit the following:

  • Technical Proposal: Proposed approach and methodology for developing the videos.
  • Financial Proposal: Detailed cost breakdown, including scriptwriting, animation, voiceover, and other production expenses.
  • Portfolio: Examples of previous 2D animated videos or similar projects. Team Details: Profiles of team members involved in the production process.
  • References: Contact details of two previous clients.

9. Payment Terms

Payments will be made once fully 100% upon acceptance of the final deliverables.

10. Ethical Considerations The consultant/agency must ensure that the videos are culturally sensitive, inclusive, and respectful of the dignity of persons with intellectual disabilities. PFPID Nepal encourages applications from agencies or individuals with expertise in disability-inclusive practices and educational content development.
