The training aims to enhance the knowledge and capacity of parents, self-advocates, and representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities regarding disability rights, legal provisions, and mechanisms for advocacy and inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Activity Modality:<\/strong>&nbsp;Parents and representatives from twelve districts will participate in this capacity-building event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Persons with disabilities continue to experience barriers in accessing their rights and participating fully in society. While Nepal has adopted various laws, policies, and commitments to promote the rights of persons with disabilities, many families and organizations remain unaware of these provisions and their practical implications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PFPID Nepal seeks to strengthen the understanding of national and international disability rights frameworks among parents and representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities, enabling them to advocate effectively for inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Purpose of the Assignment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultant will be responsible for designing and facilitating an interactive two-day training that helps participants to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Understand the rights-based approach to disability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain knowledge of national laws and policies related to persons with disabilities in Nepal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand international frameworks, including the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen advocacy and leadership skills for promoting disability rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance understanding of participation, inclusion, accessibility, and non-discrimination principles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve awareness of available legal and policy mechanisms for claiming rights and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. Scope of Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultant will be responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Training Design &amp; Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop a two-day training curriculum tailored to the learning needs of parents, self-advocates, and representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a comprehensive and standardized training manual that serves as a long-term asset for PFPID, enabling consistent delivery and easy replication of the training in the future.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare training materials, presentations, handouts, and reference resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design pre- and post-training assessment tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Training Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitate the two-day training using participatory, inclusive, and adult-learning approaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the training incorporates practical examples, group discussions, and case studies relevant to disability rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote active participation and learning among all participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Reporting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conduct pre- and post-assessment analysis to measure participants&#8217; knowledge gain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit a concise training report summarizing the training process, key achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4. Expected Deliverables<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two-day training curriculum and detailed session plan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training materials, presentations, handouts, and resource materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre- and post-training assessment tools and analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final training report with findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5. Duration &amp; Location<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a03 days of training plus 2 days for preparation and reporting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Training Dates:<\/strong>\u00a0To be finalized in coordination with PFPID Nepal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Centralized venue with participation from twelve districts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>6. Required Qualifications of Consultant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in law, development studies, Political Science, or a related Social Sciences field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in disability rights, human rights, policy advocacy, legal awareness, or governance-related capacity-building programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong knowledge of Nepal&#8217;s disability-related laws, policies, constitutional provisions, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience in designing and facilitating training for organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), parents&#8217; groups, self-advocates, or community-based organizations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with disability-inclusive development and rights-based approaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent facilitation, communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities and their families will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>7. Reporting Line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Project Officer, PFPID Nepal, and coordinate closely with the project team for planning and implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>8. Payment Modality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment will be made upon submission and approval of all agreed deliverables, including the final training report.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PFPID Nepal will cover the logistical costs associated with the training event, including venue, training materials, participant allowances, and related arrangements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>9.
