Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Parent Federation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PFPID) Nepal is a national umbrella organization advocating for the rights, inclusion, and dignity of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. With representation across multiple districts and provinces, PFPID Nepal plays a key role in influencing policies, strengthening member organizations, and promoting self-advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the evolving political context of Nepal, particularly with the formation of a new government, there is a critical need for the organization\u2019s leadership to be strategically positioned to engage in advocacy, influence policy priorities, and strengthen institutional direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enhance the leadership capacity of its Board, PFPID Nepal plans to conduct a two-day training on \u201cImplementation of Organizational Development \u2013 Board Training\u201d, with a focus on advocacy planning and leadership strengthening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Purpose of the Assignment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this assignment is to strengthen the capacity of PFPID Nepal Board members in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhancing leadership roles and governance practices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing advocacy approaches targeting the current government context<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aligning organizational priorities with national policy opportunities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safeguarding policy orientation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultant will facilitate a structured and participatory training process that enables Board members to collectively reflect, learn, and define actionable advocacy directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Scope of Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultant will be responsible for the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A. Training Design &amp; Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop a two-day training curriculum focusing on:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Safeguarding policy orientation in brief<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Roles and responsibilities of Board members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership skills for advocacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advocacy strategies in the context of the newly formed government<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare training materials, presentations, and practical tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design interactive exercises, case discussions, and reflection sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate with PFPID Nepal to ensure alignment with organizational priorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>B. Training Facilitation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facilitate the two-day board training using participatory and inclusive methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead sessions on:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Leadership and decision-making processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advocacy positioning and engagement strategies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying key policy windows and stakeholders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safeguarding policy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage active participation and experience-sharing among Board members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support the Board in outlining key advocacy priorities and directions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C. Reporting &amp; Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Document key discussions, insights, and outcomes from the training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare a concise report including:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Summary of sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Key learnings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agreed advocacy directions and leadership actions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommendations for further organizational strengthening<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Expected Deliverables<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two-day training curriculum and session plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training materials (presentations, tools, and handouts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitation of the two-day training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Duration &amp; Location<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong> 2 days (training)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> Kathmandu (to be confirmed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dates:<\/strong> To be finalized in coordination with PFPID Nepal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. Required Qualifications of Consultant<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, Governance, Sociology, Social Sciences or a related field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in organizational development, governance and training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven experience in facilitating board-level or leadership trainings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of Nepal\u2019s policy environment and governance structure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience working with disability rights organizations or OPDs (preferred).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent facilitation, communication, and strategic thinking skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to deliver participatory, reflective, and action-oriented sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. Reporting Line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, PFPID Nepal, and coordinate closely with the project and management team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. Payment Modality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Payment will be made upon completion and approval of all deliverables.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PFPID Nepal will cover all logistical costs including venue, materials, and participant arrangements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9.
